He Was Recognized

In the last week, I’ve gotten to go out on a couple of trails to go hiking.  If there is something that I wish I could do more of, that’s it.  There’s something about being out on the trail that is peaceful, and open.

Jesus is Love

We hear it said that Jesus is Love?  Why is that?  Why is that something that should be important for us to know?

Jesus is Our Savior - Palm Sunday Post

I think I’ve said this before, as a part of my own story of how I got to be a pastor, that at one point in time I was going to go to Med School and be a doctor.

Jesus is the Example

Do you remember what tracing paper is?  I ask that because it’s not a super common thing anymore.

There are times when I think that made life easier.  You could “draw” something fairly easily with it. That made it great for people like me who have limited drawing abilities.

Starting a Website 2 - Theme and Design

image from https://pixabay.com/photo-3374825/

In the first post on this series I talked briefly about the theme and design of your website.  Those were important there, so that you could start thinking about them when you were starting to look at the services you would use to host your website.  This post will go more in depth to the things you want to look at for your website, and the things that are important to consider when you are building it.

"Seriously," the man said to himself, "how did people ever used to do this on a regular basis."

Jesus is Everything

Have you ever thought that you had nothing left?  Like really nothing left at all.  What does that feel like? I know it’s a mild way of saying this, but that’s a difficult place to be in.  I’ve had that experience and I know what that "difficult" place is like.

Jesus is the Answer

Have any of you ever given the “expected” answer?  That’s the one that you don’t necessarily know what the answer is, but you know what you’re “expected” to say?

Jesus is My Friend

How do you make friends?  Stop and think about that for a second.  All of us do it a little differently.  For example, I don't make friends as much as I get adopted by extroverts.

Jesus is My Guide

A number of years ago I was a counselor at a church camp over at Camp Jo-Ota.  At that camp we had this great activity that we did which involved a rope maze.  The catch to this activity was that the maze didn't have an exit.

Transfigured Faith

Last Sunday was Transfiguration Sunday where we celebrate Jesus’ transfiguration.  It’s the time when Jesus seemingly changes in front of the eyes of his closest disciples.  I say seemingly, because Jesus doesn’t change, he is still the same ordinary Messiah that he was before, but now his disciples are introduced to him in a new way.  Can anyone really be called an ordinary Messiah?

Processing in the Aftermath

This I still believe, even in the midst of the challenges we face.

If you're reading this, you probably have heard something about what the Methodists have been dealing with over the course of the last week.

Forgiving the "Undeserved"

Over the last few posts I've been talking a lot about conflict and resolution.  A big part of that has been talking about conflict and it's challenges.  We all know that conflict can be a messy complicated thing, but did you know that the same is true about resolution?
